Future Machine in Schools

Future Machine has been meeting pupils from schools in Nottingham, Cumbria, Somerset and London since 2020.

Artist, creative educator and researcher Rachel Jacobs, who created Future Machine, performs as Future Machine's companion and facilitates workshops and learning activities.

Pupils meet Future Machine and take part in creative and embodied workshops that combine nature connectedness, art, science and technology. They learn about climate and environmental change, building resilience, thinking about the things they want to protect and envisioning the futures they want to create, by speaking to the future.

Making A Future Machine

The Future Machine was designed through a series of ‘Building a Future Machine’ workshops that have taken place across England in Nottingham, London, Loughborough. Anyone can come together to build a Future Machine.
