When This Tree Blossomed 2024

This was the sixth year that we met together and the fourth year that we met with Future Machine under the blossoming trees.

This year, the blossoms had nearly gone and the trees were already in leaf. The blossoms had come 4 weeks earlier than when we began in 2019, and in the last few years they have been blossoming a week earlier, year on year.

For 2024 our theme was rewilding Christ Church Gardens by asking people to bring along their own puppet creatures and cardboard plants. We also had materials to make plants and creatures out of recycled rubbish on the day. The rewilding puppets were also made with local children as part of workshops taking place with Toy Library and Primary’s Build Create Play at All Souls and as part of our ongoing collaboration with Mellers Primary School.

This year was quite a family affair, with all ages enjoying interacting with Future Machine. A wonderful mix of people met together under the blossoms to celebrate the spring, come up with ideas and designs for rewilding the memorial garden and speak to the future.

Small Food Bakery made a special blossoms cake and Frank took a grand group photo and film of everyone walking around the tree with their rewilding puppets.

This year when this tree blossomed was included and supported by Primary’s Nourishment Programme.
